Where courage meets collective action

Join the movement to end gender-based violence through collective self-defense, solidarity, and real-time intervention. Inspired by bonobos. Led by us.

Sisterhood is our superpower

Two women holding and reading a book titled 'The Bonobo Sisterhood: Revolution Through Female Alliance' by Diane L. Rosenfeld.

The Bonobo Sisterhood Alliance is a global movement rooted in the radical idea that we can end gender-based violence—together. Inspired by the female bonobo primates’ model of collective protection, we empower individuals and communities to interrupt harm in real time, build safer spaces through sisterhood, solidarity, and action.

Share Your Bonobo Story

We’re putting out a call for Bonobo Stories—true stories of sisterhood, courage, and collective action to share with each other for inspiration.

A Bonobo story can be big or small:

  • a time you reached out for support and your sisters came through for you

  • a time you showed up for another sister who needed help.

These stories matter because they show us what’s possible. And they help build the culture we’re fighting for, one where women are safer and stronger together.

Your story doesn’t have to be polished. Your moment of courage could be someone else’s permission to act.
