Beyond Bonobos: Mothers, Mentors and Protectors

A week before Mother’s Day, we’ll open a conversation about something we see clearly in bonobo society: older females actively support, mentor, and protect younger ones. That intergenerational alliance is one of the reasons bonobo communities are more cooperative and less violent.

What might we learn from that?

We’ll explore how guidance, solidarity, and shared experience can help younger women navigate the world, and how older women can play a powerful role in shaping safer, stronger communities.
